a smoother clip and prevents your pet from breathing in
the excess hair.

Control Dryer -The large two-dog dryer fluffs up your

cage for them to relax in while being dried. Prevents pets
from getting chilled while drying, and lowers the risk of
them getting sick. The SAFEST way for your pet to dry!

that are best suited to your lifestyle and your pets' coat
type.
Bandannas

the owners choice of a complimentary bandanna, or we offer
a line of quality bows for ears or collar...the final touch
for a great looking pet. If you have a preference, please
let us know when you drop off your pet.
Large
or Small We Groom Them All!
We
groom all breeds of dogs and cats! However, we reserve the
right to refuse service to anyone due to unruly, dangerous,
sick, excessively unkept or infested pets. We do not treat
fleas or do excessive tick removal in our shop. If you think
that your pet has fleas, please contact your vet. If you
knowingly bring a pet into our shop that is infested,
you will be responsible for all charges induced from treating
your pet, other pets in the vicinity, and our shop...it's
not worth the cost, please do not risk it!
Cats
are groomed to the best of our ability, however, some cats
find the process just too stressful. If we feel that your
cat is a risk to us, or can not handle the complete groom,
we will send him home at no charge to you. Please understand
that I can not risk my health for any animal...but will
do my best to try and groom an unruly animal to your satisfaction.
The
Grooming Gallery is often booked many days or weeks in
advance, especially around the holidays or during hot
months. We encourage you to schedule your appointment
ahead of time or, even better, schedule your next appointment
when you pick up your pet from your current appointment.
We rarely take same day appointments.
Please
remember that I am deaf and cannot answer the phone, so
please leave a detailed message including your name, breed
of dog and phone number, and we will call you back as
soon as possible. You can also email ndpetcare@gmail.com
to make an appointment, this is the fastest way to get
ahold of the me if you have any questions or would like
to make an appointment.
Thank
you for understanding!
Vaccination
Requirements
Current
vaccinations are required on all dogs and cats in order
for them to be groomed. Rabies and distemper certificates
or receipts are given to you when you vaccinate your pet.
Please plan to bring these records in with you when you
come in for the first time for a groom...I cannot groom
your pet without proof of vaccinations.
Between-Groom
Coat Care
Between-groom
coat care can dramatically improve your dogs coat and keep
down on grooming costs for you, as well as make the grooming
process an enjoyable one for your dog. Badly matted dogs
have to be shaved down, or, if possible, go through hours
of costly and sometimes painful dematting procedures. Matted
pets are also at high risk for being accidentally cut or
nicked while being groomed and this is the sole responsibility
of the owner. Can you imagine how painful it would be for
you if you didn't brush your hair for months on end? Your
dog feels the same way!
Please
be courteous to your dog and schedule regular grooming appointments,
as well as making brushing a part of your dog's daily care!
I am available to help you learn which tools and at home
grooming methods are best suited for your pet's coat type.
The basic tools and shampoos I use in the shop are available
for you to purchase, and well as doggie toys and treats...even
your pet deserves to be pampered now and then! If there
is any particular pet item you are looking for that is not
available in this area please feel free to ask...I will
do my best to find it for you.
Shampoos
Shampoo
is a very important factor in coat care. Human shampoos
and conditioners should never be used on dogs or cats. Your
pet's hair is not formulated the same as yours it, and human
shampoos tend to dry out the coat and cause dandruff. Cheap
brands of pet shampoo also do not do anything to restore
the moisture to the coat and maintain healthiness. Make
sure you read the labels on all shampoos before use...most
require dilution, and this is very important...too much
shampoo left in a coat is asking for trouble!
Make
sure you brush ALL mats out before you bathe your pet at
home. Water on a matted coat only makes the matts tighter
and more uncomfortable for your pet, as well as makes your
next trip to the groomer more costly. It also puts your
pet at higher risk of getting sick, as a matted coat takes
hours...sometimes days, to dry. Human hair dryers are another
no-no...they are too hot for your pet's sensitive skin.
If you must bathe your pet at home, please learn to do it
properly...for the comfort of your pet and the sanity of
your groomer!
Fleas,
Ticks and Skunks
Please...if
you think your pet has fleas, mention this to the groomer
when you make an appointment! If you bring in a pet that
has fleas, and they spread to other animals in the shop,
you will be charged for treatment for ALL the pets in the
shop. Fleas and other pests are best dealt with by vets,
and I do not treat dogs with fleas. I will groom dogs that
have a few ticks, but if your dog is excessively full of
ticks, please take them to the vet first and get the ticks
removed. These parasites are best dealt with by vets to
insure that the spread of infection and disease is kept
to a minimum.
We
do not treat dogs that have been sprayed by a skunk, sorry!
Once again, if your dog
has been sprayed, please contact your vet or bathe them
at home in a tomato juice bath and wait until the smell
fades before bringing them in for a groom. Thank you!
